I'm Nissa.
I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and able to show up as your full self. While therapy with me is compassionate and supportive, it also means I may gently challenge you when it feels helpful. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of meaningful change, and I believe the connection we build together is where healing and growth begin.
My approach is integrative and grounded in humanistic values. I draw from approaches such as Emotion Focused Therapy, IFS, Narrative Therapy, and others to meet you as an individual rather than applying a one size fits all approach. At the heart of my work is a belief that every person has inherent worth, and that a genuine, empathetic relationship can create space for meaningful change.
My practice is anti racist, gender and sexuality affirming, intersectionally feminist, decolonial, and anti-oppressive. These are values I continue to reflect on, learn from, and deepen in my work. I absolutely do not have these things perfected, but I am committed to continuing my learning. Whether you are navigating anxiety, overwhelming emotions, depression, relationship challenges, or a desire to better understand yourself, I am here to support you with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
